PaMAP - Mifflin County recently received 2007 aerial imagery and LiDAR through this program.

911 Emergency Service Map Book - The Mifflin County GIS Department, in cooperation with the Mifflin County Emergency Service Department, completed an updated street atlas.  This will allow our emergency service personnel throughout the county to quickly identify where they need to travel in order to respond to emergency calls in the least amount of time possible.  Map Books for the public are also available for $45.

Impervious Surface Project – The Mifflin County GIS Department completed Phases 1 and 2 of a DEP funded Growing Greener grant entitled The Development of Impervious Surface GIS Layers for Mifflin County in June of 2007.  It comprised the creation of impervious GIS data layers within the Kishacoquillas Creek and Jacks Creek Watersheds.  Data layers include roads, buildings, sidewalks, recreational areas, pools, parking lots and driveways.

FEMA CTP – Mifflin County, a participant in FEMA's Map Modernization Program, has developed updated floodplains for Mifflin County.  This program involved a Cooperating Technical Partnership between FEMA, the Mifflin County GIS Department and Juniata College.  The goal of the project was to update and improve the accuracy of the Digital Flood Insurance Rate (DFIRM) Maps for Mifflin County using a unique approach involving GIS.  This project was completed early in 2006, and the updated DFIRMs were approved in August of 2006.  Digital copies of the DFIRMs, as well as paper copies, are available in our office.

County Webmapping Site – Most of our GIS data can be found online through an interactive web mapping site.  For more information, please see our Map and Data Sales page.

County GIS Professionals Association of Pennsylvania - Mifflin County is an active participant in this young but growing organization.  This Association was established to promote excellence in the deployment of GIS in county government across Pennsylvania.  It is the Association's vision that all counties will embrace and maintain a locally independent, but regionally coordinated approach to establishing and maintaining an enterprise-wide GIS.

SEDA-COG – The Susquehanna Economic Development Association (SEDA) Council of Governments provides services to eleven counties throughout central Pennsylvania.  Mifflin County participates in a bi-monthly GIS Task Force meeting where the member counties come together and discuss various GIS related issues affecting our region and the state of Pennsylvania.
